Love where you live

I’m a firm believer that you should choose the city you want to live in first and then pick the career you’d like to have. When you design your lifestyle first then find the job to suit, your work-life balance will follow.
For the last six months I’ve felt like I’ve been juggling the balls of my life in some sort of twisted circus act. More balls of various commitments come flying and watch as I drop the important things in my life on the floor to try and catch them. All day I hear myself saying, “I don’t have time” over and over until I bore even myself.
A short while ago I wrote ‘Sometimes, you don’t realise how stressed you are until you aren’t’ not knowing at the time that it was just a soothing balm of short term solution, because a week later I returned to my chaotic routine and that whole trip felt like a recount I’d heard of someone else’s holiday.
This blog was never meant to be a place to moan. Until recently, it was a place of creative expression and inspiration. So as of this week, I’ve reduced my working hours down to 40 a week, allowing more time for photography, travel, writing and reading, the things I love to do in the region I live.
A sign of good things to come.
