New Zealand Guide book – check.

Food supplies – check

Accommodation booked for Tongariro National Park - check

Car full of gas – check

On boxing day Jack and I are packing the car up with hiking boots, backpacks, clothes and other bits and bobs and then driving to National Park Village to hike the Tongariro Crossing – New Zealand’s most popular day hike (yay, road trip).

To be honest, I’m a little nervous about it – I’m not in the best shape and when I get there I may feel that I like the idea of hiking in a NZ National park more than the actual act. But I’m committed to doing this so there’s no backing out.

From there we’re going to take a little Tiki Tour around the North Island with just a general idea of where we want to go. Maybe Taupo. Maybe Rotorua. Maybe the East Coast.

See you guys on the other side
